Lhakpa Sherpa, Nepali mountaineer sets the Guinness Book of World Record by climbing the summit of Mt. Everest for ninth time on 16 May 2018. No other female mountaineer and climber has been able to break her world record till now.

Lhakpa Sherpa (also Lakpa) is a Nepalese Sherpa mountain climber born on 23 September 1973 and grew up in Balakharka village in Makalu region of Nepal. She was the first Nepali female climber who climbed and descend Everest successfully on the year of 2000. Lhakpa Sherpa was also listed as one of the BBC's 100 Women in the year of 2016.
