Sanu Sherpa, a resident of Makalu Valley, is a celebrated mountaineer and guide who has climbed all the fourteen 8,000m peaks, not once, but twice! It may be some time before another mountaineer matches Sanu’s record. Sanu has been working with Makalu Adventure as a leading mountain guide since 1998.

Phurba Ongel Sherpa is a strong and highly experienced mountaineer. He has been leading guide on many successful Makalu Adventure expeditions to 8,000m peaks. Phurba Ongel has already climbed Mt. Everest 12 time, 11 times from Nepal and once from Tibet.

Phurba Wangchhu Sherpa heads the team of guides and climbing Sherpas at Makalu Adventure. His distinguished career includes 11 ascents of Mt. Everest and multiple ascents of other 8,000m peaks.

Temba Sherpa is a very experience trekking and mountaineering guide who has been working with Makalu Adventure since 2015. Temba is equally at home leading a trekking group to Everest Base Camp, guiding novice mountaineers on Mera Peak or partnering a client to the summit of Everest.

Kami Sherpa is an experienced mountaineering guide who originates from Sankhuwasbha in the Makalu region on the Nepal Himalaya and has been trekking and mountaineering all his adult life.

Like his father before him, Ang Dawa Sherpa is a passionate mountaineer. As a child he dreamed of becoming a mountain guide, and has now climbed Mt. Everest 8 times, as well as many other notable peaks. Ang Dawa’s home village is Sankhuwasabhu which lies in the Makalu region of easter Nepal.

Notable Achievements: Ang Dawa has climbed Mt. Everest 8 times.

Pasang Sherpa is a highly skilled mountaineer who has been a lead climber on many successful 8,000m expeditions.

Mt. Everest x 11, Mt. Kangchenjunga x 2, Dhaulagiri, Langtang Lirung, Ama Dablam.

Notable Achievements: Climbed Mt. Everest 11 times. One of the few guides to have climbed Mt. Everest West Ridge and Langtang Lirung.

Phurba comes from Okhaldhunga District in eastern Nepal and has worked with Makalu Adventure since 1998. He started as a kitchen helper, worked his way up and in 2003 he trained and qualified as a guide, initially guiding clients on trekking peaks. In 2005 he climbed Cho Oyu and since then he has guided on several 8,000m peaks including Mt. Everest and K2.

Nurbu Chhiring Sherpa is from Sankhusabha in the Makalu region of eastern Nepal. He was born in 1980 and has been trekking and mountaineering since leaving school. Nurbu is now a highly experienced and respected Sardar (lead climber).
