As the northern face of Mt. Everest shares the land of Tibet, it is one of the most adventurous expedition in Tibet, also Known as Everest Expedition Northern Ridge Tibet. Makalu Adventure conducts many expeditions in Tibet having more than 6000m. Among them the most popular are Everest 8848, Cho Oyu 8201m, Shishapangma 8035, Lakhapa Ri and Gurlamandata. These are all allowed for foreigners to climb.

The first commercial expedition successfully organised by Makalu Adventure was Cho-oyu in the year 2006, there were 6 British mountaineers who successfully summited Cho-Oyu. Ever since with a team of highly professional climbing Sherpas Makalu Adventure has been successful in organising and helping climbers to reach the summit of Cho-Oyu from 2006 – 2014. Beside Cho-Oyu we have been successful in organising expeditions to Mt. Everest in 2013 where 6 climbers climbed the top and 4 climbers in 2014. Another very famous 8000 m peak in Tibet is Shishapangma. In 2013 Makalu Adventures played a vital role in getting 5 Slovikan climbers to the top of Shishapangma and 4 climbers in 2014.

Activity levels

Easy

These trips can be enjoyed by all who are leading a normal active life. The normal amount of time spent walking in these trips is between 4-6 hours a day. No previous trekking experience is required.

Fair

Fair

Moderate

These trips are a mixture of short and longer trekking days. It is appropriate for those in reason-ability fit physical condition and may require walking at higher attitudes, and up some steep sections of trail. The typical amount of time spent walking on these trips is between 5-6 hours a day

Strenuous

These trips combine both moderated and difficult trekking; some sections of trail will require steep and prolonged accents as well as walking at altitudes in excess of 4000 m, and in some cases over 5000 m. Typical walking time is between 6 to 8 hours per day.

Challenging

These trips are a genuine adventure and can be very strenuous. Trekkers should be in very good physical condition and prior trekking/hiking experience is also advisable. Normally these treks will involve in prolonged walking between 4000 m and 5000 m, steep accents, including some passes and viewpoints that exceed 5000 m. Typically these trips will involve trekking between 7 to 9 hours per day.

Lightweight Mountaineering

These trips consist of climbing peaks which between 5000 m and 6500 m. It is advisable that climbers be in excellent physical shape and be able to maintain a high level of stamina. While previous climbing experience is not essential, it is helpful and use of climbing gear such as ropes, harnesses, and crampons will be required.
