Trip Overview

Our Cho Oyu expedition route transverses first driving all the way to the Cho Oyu Base Camp, crossing the Nepalese Border, and continuing via Nyalam and Tingri. The way to Cho Oyu Base Camp involves a normal drive at high altitude, but rewards with powerful views of Cho Oyu (8,201m) to the north. Further will be the realm of the glaciers, surrounded by the unforgettable presence of the world's mightiest mountains.

We set up the Advanced Base Camp and then three high camps in the mountain. Thereafter starts our main attempt to scale the summit (8,201m). The expedition will be supported by very experienced staff and climbing guides. We supply world-class mountaineering tents also for the high camps to our climbers. Makalu Adventure has many success rates in Cho Oyu Expedition. If you are quite courageous and love adventure, you may also give a try for Everest Expedition from Tibet or Shishapangma Expedition

Excellent service and a welcome by Makalu Adventure

I've known and worked with Mohan and Makalu Adventure for nearly 15 years. In that time I've led many treks and high altitude expeditions to Nepal (15 expeditions over 8000m and counting). His company provides an excellent service and a welcome that I look forward to every season. The Thamel Eco Resort is a center of tranquility in Kathmandu and the perfect place to start and finish the Himalayan Adventure. The staffs are now like family and I hope to return for many years with the guarantee of safety and security that he offers in the mountains.
