On Wednesday, May 15, 2024, Michal Ryszard Wensierski reached the top of Mount Everest. He got there at 7:55 in the morning. This was a dream he had since he was a child.

His journey to the top was very hard. It shows how being determined and not giving up can help you achieve your goals.

Michal first got the idea to climb Everest when he visited its base camp last year. He is an engineer who works on yachts around the world. To pay for his trip, he worked hard and saved his money. He even took a job on a building site to get stronger and save more.

Michal arrived in Nepal on March 17. He started hiking to Everest Base Camp with friends. The high altitude made them sick with headaches. But they all made it to base camp safely.

To prepare, Michal also climbed a smaller mountain called Island Peak. The weather was very cold, but he and his guide, Purba from Makalu Adventure, kept going. This helped him test his gear and get ready for Everest.

"Climbing Everest is for the rich". "Only doing it to show off to his trust fund friends". It's time to have a little rant about this. Not often I speak about these things on open forums. I was born in a little village in Poland. We lived humble, more hardships came when we had to move to London. Bad areas, gangs, crime. Single mother with two children. First time I ever went to work ("to help"), I was 11 years old. Then I learnt that nothing will ever be handed to me. If you want something you have to go and get it. If you're not willing to do that, move out the way for others that will do it. I spent summers digging trenches on the building site. I applied the same thirst and desire of the hardworking people I met throughout my childhood. Moulded and used it as fuel. Fuel to achieve: Engineering degree, engineering work, travelling the world, scholarships, bursaries, certificates, 1 learnt the power of investment in myself. The fire hasn't died, that's why Everest was only the beginning. Reprezentuje biede. ??

Climbing Everest is very dangerous. Michal had to make several practice climbs up the mountain to get his body used to the thin air. He had an old injury that made it hard to carry his bag and breathe deeply.

He originally wanted to climb without extra oxygen. But the air is too thin near the top, so he wisely decided to use it. This was a smart and safe choice.

The weather became very bad. The wind was so strong that people thought Michal and Purba had died. For two nights, they waited in a high camp in freezing wind. His oxygen mask broke two times, which was very dangerous.

A Successful Summit and a Sad Discovery

On the morning of May 15, Michal and Purba were the only climbers who tried for the top. Near the summit, they found the bodies of two missing climbers from Mongolia. They were the first to tell rescuers where to find them. This was a sad reminder that Everest is very dangerous.

Despite the bad weather and this sad event, Michal and Purba reached the top. As they stood on the summit, the sun rose above the clouds. It was a beautiful view.

Michal said, "The sunrise was the best moment. I learned that no matter what happens, I can adapt and stay positive."

He showed that with hard work and a positive mind, you can achieve your biggest dreams.
