Paradise of Mountain Mysticism and home to a distinct point of the world "Everest" land of the Sherpas where even Guinness book of world records is having problem keeping up with the bounty of world records from the region. Everest region however remote it may be is, one of the most developed regions with tourism infrastructures and where the inflow of tourist is plenty. The most daring airport of Lukla is the gateway for trekking tourist into this superlative Himalayan valley.

Everest region is also the region where the toughest endurance race “the world’s highest marathon” is held. With its starting lineup at almost 17,000 ft at Gorek shep the famous point in between your trek through the Khumbu Glacier trail to the Everest Base Camp. Gorek Shep is also the point where you hike towards Kalapatthar vantage point to view Mt. Everest. This event thus has promoted this region worldwide with this most spectacular downhill race that finishes at Namche bazaar the Mecca of Khumbu at 11,300 ft.

Besides many other annual events that take place here the region is mostly famous for trekking the main goal of every tourist who visits the region. To walk the rugged terrain through its varied altitude featuring the loop or the three pass trek or the Gokyo trek is yet another beauty of walking trips in the Everest region. The other half of Solu, the lower Solu with its airport at Phaplu has some interesting trekking trails of its own and dynamically boosts its presence with touristic wonders. The key preference for going to Everest region for a trek in Nepal is obviously the mountains.

However, the region is astonishingly rich with many points similarly worth an observation and all tourists with trigger free fingers should not forget to carry extra memory chips for your cameras..

Activity levels

Easy

These trips can be enjoyed by all who are leading a normal active life. The normal amount of time spent walking in these trips is between 4-6 hours a day. No previous trekking experience is required.

Fair

Fair

Moderate

These trips are a mixture of short and longer trekking days. It is appropriate for those in reason-ability fit physical condition and may require walking at higher attitudes, and up some steep sections of trail. The typical amount of time spent walking on these trips is between 5-6 hours a day

Strenuous

These trips combine both moderated and difficult trekking; some sections of trail will require steep and prolonged accents as well as walking at altitudes in excess of 4000 m, and in some cases over 5000 m. Typical walking time is between 6 to 8 hours per day.

Challenging

These trips are a genuine adventure and can be very strenuous. Trekkers should be in very good physical condition and prior trekking/hiking experience is also advisable. Normally these treks will involve in prolonged walking between 4000 m and 5000 m, steep accents, including some passes and viewpoints that exceed 5000 m. Typically these trips will involve trekking between 7 to 9 hours per day.

Lightweight Mountaineering

These trips consist of climbing peaks which between 5000 m and 6500 m. It is advisable that climbers be in excellent physical shape and be able to maintain a high level of stamina. While previous climbing experience is not essential, it is helpful and use of climbing gear such as ropes, harnesses, and crampons will be required.
